MEDITATION REBOOTS THE BRAIN

Does it take spiritual discipline to take time to pray and to meditate? Yes, but it’s so worth it. Let me share a story. One day, a young man named Isaac went into a field to pray and to meditate. And when he opened his eyes, he saw a beautiful woman walking toward him. Rebekah would become the love of his life! [Genesis 24:63]. So cool! My guess is that Isaac felt well-rewarded in his meditations that day! Sure, that's a rare experience. But here’s what the research today proves will happen when you meditate. Faith in God and prayer will energize you and help balance your life! In fact, scientists say meditation is like “rebooting” your brain. They confirm what was revealed thousands of years ago in the Scriptures. You definitely receive physical and spiritual benefits in the pure practice of faith, prayer and meditation. This is what we need to do to counter our helter skelter busy world. I try to spend 30-60 minutes every morning in prayer, and meditation on the Word of God. And, I definitely feel rejuvenated when I am spiritually engaged in the awe and wonder of God’s creation, and find rest in His care and compassion! In fact, Psalm 18:7 reveals that meditating on God’s law of love [the 10 Commandments] increases our happiness: Blessed is the one who meditates on God’s law, day and night. [Psalm 1:2] To be blessed, means the Spirit of God will renew your mind with deep inner peace.
